Melissa McDaniel graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in December of 2001. Melissa hold's a Master of Education degree in community counseling. Melissa is a National Certified Counselor, certificate by the National Board of Certified Counselors. In addition she is a North Carolina Licensed Professional Counselor by the North Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors. Melissa became a clinical member of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers in 2006. Counseling was first practiced in 1999 in supervised training. Melissa has gained experience through working in mental health facilities, community agencies, and residential treatment facilities. Melissa went into private practice in April of 2005. Populations served have included individuals, couples, and families. Melissa has great experience in sexual trauma and sexual deviancy issues. |

| Heather McDowell graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2003 with a Master of Arts degree in counseling, with concentration in community counseling. Heather gained her experience working with at risk youth and their families in a variety of settings such as: schools, residential treatment facilites, and community agencies. She also has experience working with adults on various mental health issues. Heather initially joined Shepherd-Way Counseling Associates, Inc. in August of 2006 working as a contract employee, before she became full-time in January 2007.
